Summary:
PLEASE NOTE: This course is also available as an Instructor Led Class, Developing Applications for WebSphere eXtreme Scale V7 (WA972). NOTE: THIS IS AN INSTRUCTOR-LED ONLINE COURSE. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS COURSE. This three-day instructor-led course teaches students the concepts and application programming interfaces (APIs) that are used to develop applications with IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale. WebSphere eXtreme Scale operates as an in-memory data grid that dynamically manages application data and business logic across multiple servers, providing architects and developers with a solution for addressing scalability and performance issues through advanced caching and grid technology. This introductory course covers the basic architecture of, and administrative concepts related to, WebSphere eXtreme Scale. The course begins with an overview of the WebSphere eXtreme Scale product and grid technology. Students then learn how to use the various WebSphere eXtreme Scale APIs and programming models that are available for application development, including ObjectMap, EntityManager, and DataGrid. In addition, students learn best practices for deploying and administering WebSphere eXtreme Scale solutions. Hands-on exercises reinforce the concepts that are discussed in the lectures, providing students with practical experience developing and modifying applications using WebSphere eXtreme Scale APIs, including APIs that provide access to the backing map, partitions, entity manager, and Java Persistence API (JPA) loaders. The exercises also enable students to build skills in administering WebSphere eXtreme Scale, as well as implementing and configuring applications that persist session data.
