Summary:
This five-day instructor-led course teaches students how to configure and use advanced features of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Network Deployment in Windows and Linux environments. In this course, students build their working knowledge of WebSphere Application Server V6.1 Network Deployment administration, configuration, security, and workload management. Through numerous hands-on activities and group discussions that emphasize best practices, students develop a solid understanding of how to design, configure, and manage a Network Deployment cell. The class begins with a thorough discussion of WebSphere Application Server architecture and provides an opportunity to bring all participants to a similar level of understanding. Students create and configure a fully-working WebSphere Application Server cell spanning multiple machines and operating systems. From the beginning, the cell functions with security enabled. Students discuss the intricacies of end-to-end security, Java 2 Platform security, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) security, Secure Sockets Layers (SSL), and digital signatures that are relevant to administrators, and build skills through hands-on exercises in setting up SSL and using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or local registries. The cell also takes advantage of workload management. Students articulate, design, and implement robust workload management scenarios for improving performance and managing server failover. In addition to the topics mentioned above, this course also covers WebSphere Platform Messaging, an introduction to Dynacache, and configuring Name service bindings. WebSphere/SOA/XML Certification Train and Certify Promotion Within six (6) months of completing this course or when the certification test expires, whichever comes first, you will be able to take the aligning certification test free of charge. The test is valued at $200 USD in developed countries and $100 in the emerging market countries. For complete promotion details, visit http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/news/20080116.shtml For test retirement information, please refer to http://www.ibm.com/certify/certs/index.shtml.
