Summary: IBM Checkout Environment for Consumer-Service V6 (CHEC) offers greater control in how retailers build, run, and support the self checkout solution and helps improve reliability through streamlined POS integration. This course will teach you how to install, configure, and troubleshoot the CHEC components, install and use the Software Development Kit (SDK) tools, and familiarize you with the processes to integrate POS applications with CHEC, and create self checkout extensions. |

Description: Audience:
This basic course is intended for IBM and IBM Business Partner technical personnel who will be configuring, integrating, extending, or supporting the IBM Checkout Environment for Consumer-Service (CHEC).
Objective:
After completing this course, you will be able to: - Explain the code architecture of CHEC
- Describe the extension model and it's capabilities
- Describe how to integrate a POS to Self Checkout using the POSBC interfaces
- Install the SDK on a dedicated self checkout development system
- Use the SDK and associated tools to begin customizing the self checkout functionality
- Establish the initial security database seeding
- Perform configuration Data seeding
- Use lane diagnostics to perform basic problem determination
- Access support resources for additional help after training
