Objectives:
After completing this course, you will be able to list the users of Oracle, trace the history of databases, list the phases in the development life cycle for Oracle systems, distinguish between data modeling techniques, create entities, add attributes and relationships, use SQL*Plus, examine the purpose of denormalization, identify the advantages and disadvantages of iSQL*Plus, query with the SELECT statement, work with set operators, subqueries, joins, ANSI SQL: 1999-compliant joins, and grouping functions, work with tables, insert and update data in tables using the MERGE statement, commit and rollback changes to data, control a transaction with savepoints, grant and manage privileges to users. You will also be able to identify variables and constants, describe anonymous blocks, conditional logic flow, and cursors, list the purpose and syntax of packages, procedures, triggers, and functions, list the contents of a datablock, manage datablocks, describe the architecture of Oracle9i, and the overall operation of a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).

Description:

Description:
The Oracle9i Database: Performance Tuning course provides you with the concepts needed to properly tune the Oracle9i Database for optimal performance. You will examine the tools used to monitor, analyze, measure, and tune a database. This course also helps you to prepare for the Oracle9i Database: Performance Tuning (1Z0-033) exam.

Objectives:
In this course, you will examine the tools and methodologies that can be used to tune the database, monitor and tune the database buffer cache, library cache, dictionary cache, large pool, and other memory structures. You will also examine how to manage Java memory, tune Oracle processes, examine the physical structure of a database, tune disk I/O, identify and correct issues with locks and latches, and tune applications by using the correct table and index types. You will examine how to analyze and improve the performance of SQL statements, measure sort performance and manage sort-related parameters. You will also examine how to use Oracle Resource Manager to allocate operating system resources and tune the shared server.

Oracle9i: Database Fundamentals II

Description:
Oracle9i Database Fundamentals II will help you describe and configure the Oracle Network Environment. This course will describe the basic concepts of database backup and recovery in Oracle9i. It will also help you use the RMAN utility to perform backups as well as complete and incomplete recoveries of the database. You will be able to move data around quickly and easily using the utilities provided by Oracle.

Objectives:
This course introduces the concepts of Oracle9i network configuration and database backup and recovery. You will learn how to configure the Oracle9i network environment to support connections to and from the database. You will also learn how to perform backups of the Oracle database using various techniques and also how to recover the database in various failure scenarios. Finally, you will learn how to load, move, and reorganize large volumes of data very quickly using Oracle-provided utilities.

Oracle9i: Database Fundamentals I

Description:
The Oracle9i Database Fundamentals I course will enable you to describe the basic Oracle9i architecture and how objects are stored in the database. You will also be able to describe globalization support.

Objectives:
In this course, you will be introduced to the responsibilities of an Oracle database administrator (DBA). You will explore the underlying architecture of the Oracle database server and the essential tasks required to manage database installations such as how to start up and shut down an Oracle instance. You will also explore the components that comprise a database, practice creating a database, manage database objects, reorganize data, and implement security measures. Finally, you will explore how to troubleshoot real-life scenarios that could occur.
